Towards IFRS Adoption & Board Performance Evaluation: HUMI’s Strategy for Building Value and Effectiveness

JAKARTA – October 24, 2024 – PT Humpuss Maritim Internasional Tbk. (HUMI) recently held its 11th In-House Training (IHT) with the theme “‘Towards IFRS S1 and IFRS S2 Adoption & Performance Evaluation for the Board of Commissioners and Directors: Building Value and Effectiveness.”‘ High enthusiasm was evident from all members of the Board of Commissioners (BOC) and Board of Directors (BOD) of the HUMI Group, who actively participated in discussions and Q&A sessions.

The training featured two expert speakers who provided in-depth insights into the topics presented at IHT#11. The first session, “‘Towards IFRS S1 and IFRS S2 Adoption,”‘ was delivered by Dr. Elvia R. Shauki, CA, an expert in international accounting and financial reporting. Dr. Elvia emphasized the importance of HUMI proactively understanding and adopting International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) S1 and S2, which aim to enhance transparent, accountable, and globally standardized corporate financial reporting. According to her, IFRS implementation is not just regulatory compliance but also a strategic tool for improving financial credibility in the eyes of stakeholders, including investors.

The second session, “‘Performance Evaluation of the Board of Commissioners and Directors: Building Value and Effectiveness,”‘ was presented by Ria BWS Pardede Sidabutar, SH, MBA, an expert in corporate governance and leadership development. Ms. Ria discussed the importance of continuous performance evaluation for the BOC and BOD to ensure that every strategic decision is made with thorough consideration and geared towards increasing corporate value. She emphasized that this evaluation serves not only as a measure of effectiveness but also as a way to foster better synergy and collaboration among leaders.

The participants’ enthusiasm was evident through the active involvement of HUMI’s Boards in discussions and critical questioning. The BOC and BOD of HUMI Group demonstrated a strong commitment to continually enhancing their understanding and skills, especially in facing the challenges of international financial reporting and effective corporate governance.

Tirta Hidayat, President Director of HUMI, expressed his appreciation for the training. He stated that the training not only provided new insights but also strengthened the foundation of good corporate governance.
