HUMI Promotes Maritime Industry for Leaders Through In-House Training

JAKARTA – July 12, 2024, PT Humpuss Maritim Internasional Tbk. (HUMI) held In-House Training (IHT#7) with the topic “Marine Insight for Non-Marine Practitioners” in Jakarta. This training was specifically designed to provide insights into the maritime industry for leaders in the “HUMI Super Leaders” program who do not have a maritime background, making the IHT#7 experience exciting, fun, and enjoyable for the participants.

The IHT#7 was opened by Mr. Dedi Hudayana, Director of HUMI, who stated, “The maritime industry is one of the key sectors supporting Indonesia’s economy. With thousands of islands spread across the country, knowledge about the maritime industry is essential, even for those not directly involved in this sector. This training aims to bridge the knowledge gap, providing a fundamental and practical understanding of the dynamics of the maritime industry.” He emphasized that the industry is fascinating with much to learn, and it is a responsibility for every leader to visit the ships to see operational processes up close.

The training covered various important topics relevant to the maritime industry, presented by ship captains, including Captain Angga Luthfi Eldrianto, Captain Dedi Susanto (a SIRE Inspector), and Captain Nanjung Umarullah, who discussed emission calculations—a trending topic towards net zero emissions.

During the IHT#7 activities, the leaders were taken on a virtual tour of an LNG ship, with each part of the ship explained in terms of its function by the speakers. The equipment was described as highly complex. “As a shipping company, it is essential for every HUMI individual to understand the business processes and the value chain of each process. Therefore, we, as those responsible for human resource development, feel responsible for providing this training,” said Okty Saptarini, Corporate Secretary of HUMI, overseeing HR.

Participants expressed hope that this activity would continue to enhance skills and provide new, sustainable knowledge with different themes. Okty added that, in line with HUMI’s values, every HUMI individual should walk the talk with H (Harmony), U (Uncompromised Integrity), M (Meaningful), and I (Innovation for Growth). “The hope is that every HUMI person aligns their behavior with HUMI’s values and is proud to be part of HUMI,” said Okty. Because HUMI Bisa, and HUMI Luar Biasa, as per its slogan.
