JAKARTA – May 16, 2024, PT Humpuss Maritim Internasional Tbk., known by its stock code “HUMI,” continues to demonstrate its commitment to strengthening its fleet. Through its subsidiary, PT Humpuss Transportasi Curah (HTC), it has added two tug boats to its fleet. This strategic move not only enhances the company’s operational capacity but also underscores HUMI’s commitment to improving the efficiency and reliability of maritime services in Indonesia.

The purchase of two tug boats, Anugerah Bersama 2219 and Anugerah Bersama 219, from PT Pelayaran Anugerah Wijaya Bersaudara, amounted to Rp23,450,000,000.00 (twenty-three billion four hundred fifty million rupiah). This acquisition reflects HTC’s commitment to developing and strengthening Indonesia’s maritime transport infrastructure.

HUMI’s President Director, Mr. Tirta Hidayat, stated, “We are very pleased with this agreement, which enhances our capability to meet market needs. The addition of these tug boats is part of our business development plan for the 2024 fiscal year, and we are confident that it will enable us to provide the best services.”

Tug boats, which will function as tug assists, play a crucial role in towing and pushing large ships in ports. They assist in navigating large ships that have limited maneuverability, especially in narrow or busy areas such as ports. With the presence of tug boats, the risk of ship accidents can be minimized, and docking processes become safer and faster.

It is expected that the addition of these boats will have a positive impact on HUMI’s revenue growth and strengthen HTC’s position as a key player in this sector.
