Based on Government Regulation (PP) No. 7 of 2000 concerning Marine Affairs, to work as crew members, seafarers are required to have qualifications of expertise and skills that are legally declared through a certificate.

This is as explained by the Director of PT MCS Internasional (MCSI), which is a subsidiary of HUMI, namely Johan Novitrian.

From that definition, it appears that there are two types of certificates, a certificate of expertise called a certificate of competence and a certificate of skill called a certificate of expertise,”‘ said Johan in a broadcast on the Lighthouse Seafarer Network Youtube channel.

While the COP certification itself is a type of certificate that shows certain skills that are activated for ships on board, such as Basic Safety Training (BST), Survival Craft and Rescue Boat (SCRB) and others.

Building a professional and competent ship is certainly needed in every shipping activity carried out. To produce reliable professionals in the maritime field, HUMI has a training and marine center managed by the company under MCSI named Humpuss Trilogy Maritime Training Center (HTTMC).
