Strengthening Governance and Sustainability, HUMI Conducts ESG and Whistleblowing System Socialization for Ship Crew

Balikpapan, November 11, 2025 – As a concrete manifestation of its commitment to implementing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) and Good Corporate Governance (GCG) principles, PT Humpuss Maritim Internasional Tbk (HUMI) carried out a socialization activity regarding the Whistleblowing System (WBS) and sustainability aspects directly to the ship crew.

This socialization activity was initiated and executed by the Legal Department and Sustainability Department of HUMI as the holding company. The joint team conducted a working visit to the operational area in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan, to visit three tug boats owned by the Subsidiary, PT Humpuss Transportasi Curah, namely TB Semar 28, TB Semar 17, and TB Semar 18.

This visit was not merely to review operations, but to convey an important message about integrity, transparency, and environmental responsibility, so that it is not only understood at the head office management level, but truly comes alive among the ship crew, who serve as the operational spearhead at sea.

In the Whistleblowing System (WBS) socialization session, AVP Legal of HUMI, Ervan Sarophie, provided a deep understanding to the ship crew regarding the violation reporting mechanism. This socialization emphasized that every crew member has the right and a secure channel to report actions contrary to the company’s code of ethics, fraud, or other legal violations without fear of intimidation. This is a preventive measure by the Company to maintain a clean work environment with integrity. He emphasized that every crew member has the right to speak up, to report code of ethics violations, indications of fraud, or unlawful actions without fear. “This is our way of maintaining a clean work environment with integrity,” he stated firmly.

After that, it was the turn of Yudiscitra Fatommy, Jr. AVP of Sustainability, to take over the socialization session. With a grounded storytelling style, he explained how ESG principles are actually already close to the daily lives of seafarers: protecting the marine environment, ensuring mutual safety, to providing understanding related to HUMI’s ESG Flagship Program and material sustainability topics that are now the focus of the HUMI Group. The ship crew listened enthusiastically, with many questions about how they can play a bigger role in implementing sustainable practices on board.

VP of Corporate Secretary of HUMI, Okty Saptarini, stated, “This direct socialization activity to ships in Balikpapan is proof that HUMI focuses not only on profitability, but also on how business is conducted correctly and responsibly. Ship crew members are our vital assets. When they understand ESG and WBS, they participate in safeguarding HUMI’s reputation and sustainability in the future,” she said.

That day, it was not just socialization that took place, but also an alignment of vision between onshore management and marine operations. There was a new spirit flowing through every ship, that they are not merely engine movers and guardians of shipping lanes, but also guardians of company values.

Through this step, HUMI hopes to strengthen a foundation of governance that is transparent, compliant, and sided with sustainability—a long-term journey that starts from the ship crew, yet is aimed at a greener future for the company with integrity.
