March 28, 2024, Jakarta – The culmination of a series of activities for Ramadan 2024 by PT Humpuss Maritim Internasional Tbk. (IDX: HUMI), themed “The Magnificent Ramadan”, was marked by the event “TOGETHER: Sharing for EACH OTHER”, a gathering for fostering relationships and sharing joy with orphaned children, as well as the event “BUBARAN: Breaking the Fast Together with Employees”, held at Artotel Suites Mangkuluhur, South Jakarta (28/3).
During the event, HUMI invited 7 orphanages with 140 orphaned children to attend. Each child’s talent showcase provided unique comfort, such as recitations of the Holy Quran, chanting of the divine names, and Islamic marawis performances. The attending foundations and children received donations and gifts from the HUMI Group as a form of support and attention to them.
Throughout the month of Ramadan, HUMI also conducted routine programs such as 8x KURMA (Ramadan Lectures), held every Monday and Wednesday, inviting Ustadz to present discussions; 7x BERTANDING (Sharing Snacks for Those Nearby), offering a total of 1,000 free snacks every Tuesday and Thursday in the vicinity of Mangkuluhur City and Granadi Buildings, aimed at commuters or pedestrians passing by during the time leading up to breaking the fast; SEBAR UMAT (Charity on Fridays), where HUMI encouraged employees to give charity every Friday; and BERISI (Sharing Eid Gifts), to be distributed to office boys, cleaning services, and security personnel working at Mangkuluhur and Granadi Buildings, the locations of the HUMI Group offices.
Regarding these various activity programs, HUMI’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Tirta Hidayat, stated, “We hope to provide benefits and happiness and strengthen unity in carrying out worship during the month of Ramadan. May the spirit of togetherness and kindness shown by HUMI inspire more people to care for and share with others.”
In Islam, giving to those in need is considered a highly noble act. The Prophet himself taught us to show attention and affection to orphaned children. “I and the one who takes care of an orphan will be together in Paradise like this,” he explained, joining his index finger and middle finger, as Mr. Tirta conveyed in his closing remarks.
