Humpuss Maritim Supports National Port Connectivity Through the Addition of Tugboats

Jakarta, 4 September 2025 – PT Humpuss Maritim Internasional Tbk. (HUMI) continues to be committed to contributing to Indonesia’s port ecosystem through its subsidiaries. Most recently, HUMI, through one of its subsidiaries, PT Humpuss Transportasi Curah (HTC), has added one tugboat to its fleet. Named TB Jeneponto 01, the vessel has an engine and power specification of 2×1018 HP. The addition of this vessel as a company asset strengthens PT HTC’s position in the Indonesian market for the tug assist segment at Indonesian ports.

The President Director of HUMI, Tirta Hidayat, stated that HUMI, through its various subsidiaries, is committed to developing Indonesia’s shipping industry. “The addition of this tugboat aligns with HUMI’s vision to support the development of the maritime ecosystem. We believe that strong port connectivity will be a key to smoothing the flow of trade and strengthening national economic growth,” Tirta said.

Tugboats are used to assist the movement of vessels, specifically to pull and push large ships in ports and ensure the smooth operation of these vessels.

With the addition of this one vessel, HTC now has 25 tugboats and 3 barges. HTC’s existing tugboats include TB Semar 4, TB Semar 18, TB Semar 28, and others.

The addition of this vessel is not only a business step but also a commitment by HUMI to support a sustainable Indonesian shipping industry.

HUMI is also continuing to realize its 2025 capital expenditure (Capex). To date, the company has realized part of its allocated Capex, which is focused on strengthening its fleet. Of the 10 vessels planned for procurement in 2025, 4 have been realized, along with the development of a digital-based system to increase efficiency. The addition of the tugboat is one tangible form of the 2025 Capex realization, aimed at supporting sustainable business growth and boosting HUMI’s competitiveness in the national market.
