Pay Attention to Social Governance, MCS International (MCSI) Implements Gender Equality Principles

The company providing and managing crew from the Humpuss Group, PT MCS Internasional (MCSI) always upholds the implementation of aspects of good corporate social governance in accordance with current international quality standards. It is active and valid.

As one of the components in the aspect of social governance, gender equality does not escape the attention of MCSI in order to optimize the Company’s implementation efforts in presenting an up-to-date social governance mechanism for stakeholders.

“The real implementation of aspects of social governance by MCSI is reflected in every business activity carried out without discriminating between the participation of every individual, be it male or female,” said Johan Novitrian, Director of MCSI.

Furthermore, Johan explained that in the current era, both men and women have the same professional status in the work environment.

Meanwhile, another proof that MCSI implements the principle of gender equality is by giving trust to female crew members to play a strategic role in operating ships belonging to the Humpuss Group or other principals.

For example, Angelina Sabila Janna, a female crew member from the Humpuss Group, now has a strategic role on board as a Chief Engineer or head of the engine room. Angel’s assignment as Chief Engineer also made history as the first woman in Indonesia to work as Chief Engineer on a liquefied natural gas ship.

For information, the application of corporate social governance to stakeholders is not only limited to issues of gender equality, but includes other components such as religious tolerance to important matters relating to welfare such as wages.

MCSI always pays wages according to the regulations imposed by the government referring to the UMP (provincial minimum wage). The company also does not escape providing other benefit facilities such as health insurance or accident insurance outside working hours.
