The historic momentum of the youth oath is clear evidence that the spirit of struggle carried out by young Indonesians in the past was able to have a tremendous impact as a basis and forerunner will fight for a sovereign nation.
Coinciding with the commemoration of the 94th anniversary of the Youth Pledge Day, the President Director of PT GTS Internasional Tbk (GTSI) hopes that the persistence and fighting spirit of past youths can be carried forward by young people today through various means.
“‘Commemorating the youth oath day on October 28, 2022, the fighting spirit and persistence of the nation’s youth in the past was passed on by young people today through various ways,”‘ said HUMI President Director Dedi Hudayana.
Furthermore, Dedi gave an example of one of these ways, for example, it is proven that local crew members are able to compete with foreign crew members to crew various types of ships that are currently needed to strengthen the country’s maritime industry.

One of the programs carried out by the Humpuss Group by producing reliable crews of ships carrying liquefied natural gas or LNG (liquified natural gas) of local blood is clear evidence of the current generation’s struggle to fight for the sovereignty of the country in the eyes of the international community.
The Indonesianization program carried out by GTSI’s parent, PT Humpuss Intermoda Transport Tbk (HITS) aims to replace all foreign crew members from Japan who previously served on the Company’s LNG vessels.
“‘The Indonesianization program has been planned since the beginning, which is a program to replace all foreign (Japanese) ship crews, up to the highest positions on the LNG ship, namely the captain and the head of the engine room (KKM),”‘ said Dedi.
The program was achieved on September 8, 2011 marked by the inauguration of Capt. Chepy Chairil Anwar as skipper replacing Capt. S. Edatsugi and Chief Engineer Priyo Nugroho replaced M. Takahashi as KKM on the Company’s LNG ship.
The crew of the Company’s LNG ships by one hundred percent of local personnel is now a testament to the company’s spirit in fighting for the nation’s sovereignty in the current generation.
