Indonesia Maritime Economy Targeted to Reach US$1,137 Billion by 2045, Humpuss Maritime Becomes One of the Important Contributors

Indonesia is known as the largest maritime country in the world. This is reflected in the geographical conditions, where the majority or 62% consists of water. Not surprisingly, Indonesia also has a more diverse marine biodiversity compared to other countries.

Recently, the government through the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Kemenko Marves) has targeted the economic contribution of the maritime sector to Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in 2045.

If calculated from the government’s targeted GDP in 2045 of US$9,100 billion, then around 12.5% ​​of it is US$1,137 billion which is expected to be contributed by the maritime economic sector in 2045.
